Located in Burjuman and Dragon Mart 2, TheYellowChilli by Sanjeev Kapoor impresses me with its authentic Indian dishes. I visited the Dragon Mart 2 branch as i had some shopping to do there! Located near the cinemas on the first floor, Its a big place with a quieter, calmer atmosphere.
I was warmly welcomed by the Manager Mr.Manpreet and his staff. Walking inside the beautiful restaurant i was seated to my table. The ambiance was lively, the mosaic flooring with lime green chairs, chiffon flowy white curtains, Crystal chandeliers! Overall the interiors were outstanding. After having a giggle with the down to earth host we went on to the menu where all i could see was some mouthwatering dishes. To make it easier we went with his suggestions and ordered a bunch of things:

Strawberry Mojito & Peru Pyala
from the cooler drink section we opted for these two, and just one word WOW! The sweetness was just about right for the mojito, strawberry bits with mint leaves and soda made it a refreshing drink! Where as the other one Peru Pyala was towards spice and sweetness, the chili rimmed glass with guava, lemon and mint was an utterly outstanding drink! having just the guava with sugar and chili powder was my favorite snack and seeing it in a juice form was exciting for me!
Complimentary papad is always a fun snack to have while waiting for the food! These were served with mango chutney and green chutney. The basket had Appalam and normal papad.

dilli aloo chaat
beautifully presented this dish was a bomb! I could have it all day, everyday! Even though these potatoes were tossed in tamarind chutney i loved how crispy it was and not soggy! Flavorful, tangy and delicious! Make sure you don’t miss these out!
hare masaley ka bhuna paneer
I would highly recommend this starter as well! The squared cottage cheese was coated with green masala, mint and coriander. Super soft and bursting with green herb flavors!
lawrence road tandoori murgh
We personally didn’t like it! This was our least favorite dish from the starters section! It looked lovely and all but the chicken was dry, it needs to be more moist!
haldi chili tawa fish
Utterly soft and delicious fish well marinated in turmeric and chilies. Not at all salty, pan fried with perfection! #musttry

Forgot to click an individual picture of the dish! Loved how it was served in a gold milk pan! I was blown away when i took my first bite! Blend of green and black lentils, the recipe is prepared beautifully where the taste is buttery and not chalky. I enjoyed it with Butter Naan! Highly recommend this combination!
It looked so tempting and smelled phenomenal. It comes to a sweeter side as the gravy is tomato based. What attracted me was the mini spinach kofta balls, they were neatly filled with cottage cheese! I loved every bite of it! the velvety gravy and the super cheesy koftas…YUM! Again! I highly recommend this one as well!
Well cooked prawns tossed in aromatic spices and bell peppers, I loved the masala of it! The crunchiness of bell peppers worked really well in this dish. I enjoyed it, whereas my mom thought it had a strong smell of prawns which she dislikes! So she didn’t like it at all!
chicken tawa masala
It was a dry dish and not the best out of all! well when compared to the rest! Cooked in tawa with grounded spices was just alright!
Turai keema mirch
Spicy, tangy minced mutton dish as its cooked with chilies and whole spices! This was delicious and bursting with flavors. We both loved it and to make it even more spicier we had it with spicy roti.

When it comes to breads they have a wide variety! I opted for Butter Naan which went well with all my main course curries, and the Pyaaz Mirch Ki Roti was going well with dal and the Famous Peshwari Naan is better off alone as it was on the sweeter side!

gulab e gulkand
Not an ordinary traditional Gulab Jamun! This one is stuffed with Gulkand in other words rose jam which is usually found in pan. Plus its big in size, loved the plate that it was served in! Outstanding twist and taste! Bravo!
zauk e shahi
Its a bread pudding dessert which was presented well in a cocktail glass. The crispy sweet bread, with rabri, and mini gulab jamun was perfectly leveled when it comes to sweetness! We loved it!
Masala cutting chai
Mumbai street style tea was well needed after indulging a lot of yummy food! We lost all our energy and a chai was the best solution to kick off our laziness as we had to walk back to our car! Loved the presentation and taste! It helped a lot!
Overall, I had a lovely time at TheYellowChilli! This has to be the first restaurant of Sanjeev Kapoor that I actually LOVE! Great service, food and ambiance! I shall be visiting again very soon!
