Indian Contemporary @ Farzi Cafe :Review

The fusion of cuisines customizing to Indian palate can be a hit or a miss… but with that being said i have to say that the chefs at Farzi Cafe have boldly taken the cuisine where it has never gone before..

What i really appreciate about the food was that they didn’t go overboard with the flavors. Keeping the Indian taste more prominent, they delivered some of the finest Indian contemporary dishes.

Check out the ambience!

Now let me share with you to what all the chef had prepared for me

Small Plates

HASS AVOCADO CHAAT→AED41

India meets Mexico! Diced avocado, onions and tomato salsa, beetroot gel and sev. What a refreshing twist to a chaat! #musttry

MADRAS PEPPER PRAWNS→AED49

Rich and chaatpata! the curry leaf masala and the madras gunpowder uplifts the flavors where the curd rice aire balancing the spices. Really appreciate how the unpleasant powerful seafood smell was not there *phew*

HALLOUMI SAMOSA→AED35

Beautifully towered, these hot halloumi pastry is served with a green apple & mint chutney.

GALOUTI KEBAB pâté WITH AIR SHEERMAL→AED44

My second most favorite dish from the menu. Very spicy lamb puree served with bright yellow aerated sheermal. Both balanced each other so well! #musttry

TRADITIONAL CHICKEN TIKKA→AED41

Tandoor roasted chicken morsels. Creamy, tender, moist and flavorful. #musttry

Mains

JHOL MASALA CHICKEN BIRYANI→AED52

Uff! Dum chicken biryani perfectly cooked in masalas. Super light and aromatic! if you are a rice lover like me then this will surely not disappoint you

SEARED WAGHU CURRY→AED81

So with this dish the chef prepares it right next to your table. Quickly smearing the waghu that is marinated in Indian spices he later adds coastal curry to it which gives a strong aroma of coconut and curry leaves. Ready to be served it came alongside with a rice hopper known as appam. Very well made, delicious, coconut-ee and HEAVY!  (new dish- served in MOE branch only)

AWADHI MUTTON SEEKH KEBAB, AUBERGINE MASH→AED53

minced lamb skewers, Indian spiced baba ganoush, mint paratha. Great combination once again! The seekh is very mild and it tastes blank if you have it on its own that’s why make sure you get all the good in that mint paratha and have it in one bite! #musttry

Dessert

GULAB JAMUN→AED52

Out of the three desserts this one was my least favorite! i personally found it way too sweet. Would love to have something on the side that’s salty so it can diffuse the sweetness

RAS MALAI TRES LECHES→AED38

Ahh..loved this one! carrot cream between the rasmalai layers.. very delicious and sweetened at the right level

LIVE TAWA MITHAI→AED48

well if you are looking for just one heavy dessert then go with this one! Watching a selection of Indian sweets/methai getting mixed all together in a hot cast iron griddle just gave me diabetes lol this loaded sugar is for the ones who are crazy about desi sweets!

◊  Drinks

SmashShikanjwi→AED21 -AamPana→AED21 -MachaMan→AED24 -BerryBlues→AED27 -FarziSunrise→AED24

Refreshing drinks were served in between meals. My favorite was the Macha Man- matcha powder, cherries, lemonade. Very unique in taste.

Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at the newest branch in Dubai, Mall Of The Emirates. The service was great and very friendly. Chic interiors with spacious seating area. This is a type of restaurant that will offer you great dishes that not only taste good but looks good too. It can be on a pricey side if visiting with a larger group but its worth the penny! So if you are planning to splurge anytime soon do visit Farzi Cafe
